Amy Hammond

Associate (Scottish Qualified)

Amy studied for her degree and post-graduate diploma at Edinburgh University, before completing her traineeship with an international law firm. She joined BDBF after finishing her training.

During her training contract, Amy assisted on a number of cases in the Employment Tribunal and helped to advise on an extensive workplace investigation, which covered a range of employment and HR issues.

Amy has a keen interest in advising clients in relation to disability discrimination, and matters involving mental health in the workplace.

Her interest in this stems from researching her dissertation on mental health law while at university.  Following this, Amy conducted legal research on the interplay between international human rights and mental health and has been teaching students on the Mental Health Law Honours course at
Edinburgh University for the past two years.

Amy is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

In her leisure time, Amy enjoys being active outdoors, travelling, surfing and spending quality time with family and friends.

Amy was admitted as a solicitor in January 2023.
