Today, 1 November 2023, marks the 11th anniversary since BDBF opened its doors.
It has been an exciting year as we have seen our firm go through considerable growth – strengthening our offering with the appointment of a senior associate and two newly-qualified solicitors. We also expanded our partnership with the promotion of Clare Brereton, as well as promoting Samantha Prosser to Managing Associate.
As of today, we have six partners and 14 other lawyers, all specialising in employment law, along with our seven-strong practice group.
Being the ‘go-to’ firm for senior executives and high value/high stakes employment disputes was a founding ambition and we are proud to have achieved this and cemented that position as we have continued our journey.
We are delighted for that to have been recognised by us being ranked in Band 1 once again as a leading senior executive employment law firm in Chambers and Partners, with all six of our partners being individually ranked and three of them being identified as Band 1 individuals. Likewise, we were once again ranked in the top tier in the Legal 500. We were also listed once again as one of The Times Best Law Firms 2024 for employment law, as rated by our peers.
Over the past 11 years, BDBF has thrived and grown achieving landmark decisions in some of the biggest employment cases. But, alongside the “trophy wins,” on a daily basis we have achieved hundreds of valuable career and reputation-saving outcomes for employees and partners as well as doing the same for our employer client base.
We are committed to promoting access to justice more generally. In March, to mark International Women’s Day, we offered one hour’s free legal advice to any employee facing a discrimination and/or harassment issue at work who might not otherwise have been able to obtain professional assistance. Three members of our team regularly volunteer for the Rights of Women sexual harassment helpline. In June, we participated in the London Legal Support Trust’s 10km London Legal Walk raising vital funds for legal advice charities. We also supported the Lord Mayor’s Appeal at the City Giving Day Quiz Night in September.
As the firm embarks on its 12th year of operation, the objective remains the same as it was on our first day – achieving exceptional results for our clients whilst providing a congenial and stimulating workplace for our team.
Thanks to all of our colleagues, peers and clients for their support over the years.
