Negotiated an exit package from a HealthcareTrust
Our client, a senior executive of a Healthcare Trust, made protected disclosures and protected acts at Board level in respect of race discrimination within the Trust. Following this, unsubstantiated concerns were raised regarding our client’s performance and the Trust then sought to rely on comments made during a without prejudice discussion as our client’s formal resignation, despite our client’s protestations. We successfully negotiated an exit package within the constraints of public sector exit payments without the need for litigation – this included an extended notice period, backdated pay, paid outplacement support and psychological support, agreed reference, letter expressing regret at the situation caused and payment of legal fees.
